S K Rajavelu played many roles to different people but the one that he will always be remembered as is an <!–more Artist–> Artist and Master Craftsman. Having watched him at work, his sense of humor and camaraderie with his peers and juniors stands out immediately. Loved by all, he rejoiced in it as he painted the canvas with his Kalamkari style colors and designs he honed from his time at the Weaver’s Service Center. Those unmistakable strokes on the canvas flow effortlessly even as he is busy speaking of his experiences with his teachers and fellow students. We wish we could have spent more time with him and got to know more about the history of Indian Art.
We deeply mourn the loss of a great artist.
